I grew up wild and free in a classic American suburb in the Winston-Salem, Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. Friends were abundant, along with a neighborhood pool, and backyard football games were everywhere. This is where I developed my love for bass fishing¸ walking¸ and a deep appreciation for home.
My older brother of seven years influenced my love for music. It was the 80s and he was spinning Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and the Police on the record player nonstop. That musical genre, along with my mom’s love of quality smooth jazz, landed me in the yacht rock port. I love the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald, James Taylor, and especially my favorite smooth groovy jazz band, Four80East.
When I was a teenager, I had the privilege of relocating to the glorious Pacific Northwest. I was so fortunate to attend college, meet my amazing wife of 17 years, and raise three amazing boys.
I inherited my love for business from my father, and enjoyed many roles as a business professional. Eventually, I found real estate and set sail as a REALTOR in 2016. It was exciting and fast paced, and it opened my eyes to the potential.
I launched my own residential real estate investor business in 2018 and began purchasing mid-century homes. I renovated these homes, launched them on vacation rental portals, then sold them to take advantage of price appreciation.
At the same time, I continued my work as a REALTOR, and became increasingly curious about the mortgage lending industry. I’d had my own home loans, but really had no deep understanding of how the industry worked. So, on a rainy northwest day, I answered a call from a dear REALTOR friend that asked, “Do you want to be a loan officer?” I said yes, dove in headfirst, and landed at New American Funding.
I’m so grateful to have found New American and my team leader, Emily Caryl Ingram. Our team is blazing trails for buyers and existing homeowners to maximize their potential toward home ownership and managing their equity. My objective is to listen, learn, and strategize to guide my clients, partners, and my company toward success.
