I'm different from most mortgage lenders.
Most lenders will simply quote you an interest rate. I believe in addressing my customers' holistic financial condition. Your home is more than an interest rate. It's an investment, a retirement plan, a place to raise your children, and a refuge.
I didn't set out to be a mortgage loan officer. I stumbled into it.
After graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in math, I started my career in recruiting during the dot com boom. It was fast-paced, exciting, and full of opportunity. Until the dot com bubble burst. Suddenly, nobody was hiring and I found myself with a very little work.
Around that time, a friend referred me to a mortgage broker who was drowning in paperwork. When he heard I could talk on the phone, work with people, and I was "pretty good" with numbers, he hired me on the spot. I started out taking FHA streamline refinance applications in 2001, and I've been in the mortgage world ever since.
Over the years, I've worn a lot of different mortgage hats. I've been a loan officer and a loan processor. I've even done a little underwriting. I've worked with small broker shops and massive megabanks, and I've closed thousands of loans along the way.
Today, I'm a Mortgage Loan Specialist with New American Funding, serving customers throughout Washington State and beyond. My focus is on relationship-based lending - guideline people through the mortgage process with clarity, integrity, and a healthy dose of humor.
I'm also passionate about affordable housing and community involvement. I serve on nonprofit boards, teach continuing education classes for REALTORS, host homebuyer education workshops, and speak at industry and community events.
When I'm not working, you'll probably find me enjoying life with my neurotic dog, one obnoxious bird, and the amazing community I'm lucky enough to call home.
