2020: The Year in Review

Share

Jan 20, 2021

Happy New Year! Yes, saying that nearly three weeks into 2021 may sound a little late, but it's for good reason. I've been crunching the numbers, and while 2020 absolutely had its fair share of challenges, it also created new opportunities for homeowners.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your business. It was my pleasure to serve, and I look forward to another year of it. Be sure to share this video with your family, friends and neighbors!

2020: The Year in Review

*** VIDEO TRANSCRIPT ***

My name is Emily Caryl Ingram. I lead a team of mortgage professionals at New American Funding in Port Townsend, Washington.

While 2020 certainly had its share of challenges, we also enjoyed unprecedented success, and were able to truly give back to our community. And it’s all because of you!

Nearly 300 of you referred your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your own customers to us. You trusted us. You believed in us.

And because of you…

We helped 55 families purchase homes, including 24 first-time buyers, in Jefferson County.

We helped customers access $4.2M in equity to use for home improvement projects, paying off debt, and living expenses.

We saved our refinance customers an average of $272 a month on their mortgage payments.

And we helped 14 veterans access their VA home loan benefits.

Happy New Year, Jefferson County! Thank you, Port Townsend. Thank you, Jefferson County. And thank you, to all of you, through the great state of Washington.

Mortgage Shopping Tips

How do you know you're getting the best deal? Are all lenders the same? Here are a few shopping tips I share with my customers

Five Questions to ask your Mortgage Loan Officer

Choosing a lender is a big decision, but asking these five essential questions can shed some light on your prospective mortgage professional and put your mind at ease.

Should You Wait to Refinance or Buy a Home?

Will interest rates get lower? Should you wait to refinance or buy a home? I think the risks of waiting far outweigh the benefits of capitalizing on the current market.

Cash in on Your Home's Equity

Real estate values have recovered and most folks now find that they have quite a bit of equity in their homes. Of course, that equity doesn't do much good just sitting there. Is it ever a good idea to use some of that equity to pay off credit cards, pay for college, or make home improvements?
